Genealogy Courses & Training in Tracing Your Ancestors, Production of Family History Books & Family Trees
We are able to provide courses and training for small, medium-sized or large groups of friends and/or clubs & organizations throughout Central/Southern England and on the Costa Del Sol, Spain.

The course covers-

• First Steps in tracing ancestors - the necessary information required about your more immediate ancestors.

• Methods and techniques for tracing ancestors using a variety of sources including powerful web-based sources.

• The most suitable methods of recording information obtained including use of a computer database.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to-

• Use skills acquired to begin to trace their ancestors drawing on knowledge of a variety of sources from which to obtain information.

• Record information obtained about their ancestors using handwritten record cards or charts.

• Identify software suitable for recording ancestors’ information on a computer database.

Timing : 9.30-4.00 One hour lunch; 2 X 15 mins coffee breaks

Course designed to complement Course TA 1. Participants will need to have attended Course TA 1 or to have some experience of family history research. (Suitable for groups of no larger than 8 people).

The course covers:
• The use of the computer to create family history books in both printed form and pdf form which can be emailed to relatives and friends.

• How to add photos of family and places, and documents such as birth and marriage certificates, letters, postcards, army discharge papers, death announcements and wills.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to-
• Apply knowledge gained from the course to begin to develop simple family history booklets on their computer which include text, photos and documents.

Timing : Three hours + 20 minutes coffee break.
